Pu Erh is a designation of origin produced only in China. Experts in the field make note that this tea initially goes through a process similar to that of green teas but before the leaves are dried they are aged in loose leaf form or pressed into tight discs or other shapes. Pu Erh is a fermented tea but, depending on the variety with which it is prepared is the aging process employed, which could last months or years. They are highly sought after for its earthy, wood and humid notes. It has a distinct aroma and unmistakable flavor. The ideal brewing temperature is 212°F with a recommended infusion time of 3 to 4 minutes.
